 PES
has used its soil gas studies to help engineering firms determine
underground storage tank leakage, decide siting of groundwater monitor
wells, pinpoint the location of contaminant sources, and delineate both
horizontal and vertical migration of subsurface chemicals.
In addition to soil gas and ambient air
samples, PES can obtain groundwater and soil core samples, either to
complement soil gas surveys or to quantify non-volatile
compounds. We perform heated headspace analysis of soil
samples to map chemical migration in tightly bound soils and as an
on-site indicator of cleanup effectiveness at waste disposal facilities.
